Terms of Use
Effective 12 May 2026.
1. What this app is for
This app supports the Deen Team's weekly Tarbya programme for Muslim youth in the UK. It is not a public social network. Only boys whose parents have given consent — plus their mentors, admins, and leaders — can sign in.
2. Who can use it
- Boys who are part of the Deen Team Tarbya programme
- Their parents — to receive login codes and give consent
- Mentors, Admins, Leaders appointed by the Deen Team to run the programme
3. How to behave on the app
Speak as a brother in faith. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say what is good or remain silent".
- Watch your language — no swearing, mocking, gossip, or hurtful words
- Use the Muslim way of speaking — Bismillah, As-salaamu alaykum, Jazak Allahu khayran
- Do not share your username or login code with anyone — not even friends
- Do not share photos, addresses, phone numbers or other personal information in the chat
- Disagreements happen — solve them with adab, ask a mentor if you need help
4. What the mentors and leaders can see
All chat messages — group and direct — are visible to the mentors for the safeguarding of every boy on the team. Each chat page shows a permanent banner reminding the boys.
Leaders can delete an inappropriate message at any time. They can also pause a boy's chat access if a chat ban is needed (the boy can still send a question to the Ustad).
5. Suspension and removal
The Leaders can — at their discretion — pause a member's chat access, deactivate the account, or delete it entirely if a boy doesn't follow these terms or if a parent withdraws consent.
6. No warranty
The app is provided as-is by volunteers. We do our best to keep it secure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
7. Privacy
How we look after your child's data is explained in the Privacy Notice. By using the app you accept that notice.
8. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, parents will be notified by email at the address on file.
